Someone Said It...

I Love These Songs

*Please help me keep this page current and let me know if a video won't load properly. Sometimes it's just a temporary YouTube glitch, but sometimes the link goes dead (how sad). Thanks!

"Eve, The Apple of My Eye", Bell X1
(The song is hauntingly gorgeous, and even though the video has goes a different direction than my ears want it to, it's still kind of cute.)

"Glass Ceiling", Metric
(Emily Haines is utterly gorgeous, with a subtly-spellbinding voice as well. Even in an acoustic set, the musicality penetrates.)

"First Day of My Life", Bright Eyes
(This is a sweet, tender song about finding and taking a chance on love. If you really pay attention to the words you can't help but feel something.)

"Ára Bátur", Sigur Rós
(One of the most gorgeous and moving pieces I've ever heard from one of my ultimate favorite musical groups. Please trust me; it's worth the 9-minute time commitment.)

"Skinny Love", Bon Iver
(Beautifully-talented musician who was inspired by his self-imposed isolation in a Northern Wisconsin cabin.
Listen. You'll be glad.)

"Kiss", Scout Niblett,
with Bonnie "Prince" Billy (Will Oldham)
(Yes, the video is a bit left-of-center, but it's sweet. And the SONG...my God the song...it SQUEEZES my heart.)

"Snow White", Jaymay
(I think I found a new love.)

"These Days", St. Vincent
(WARNING: could take your breath away)

"Say It's Possible", Terra Naomi

"Better", the incomparable Regina Spektor

"To Build a Home",
The Cinematic Orchestra
featuring Patrick Watson

"The Blower's Daughter", Damien Rice

"Manhattan Cowboy", Susan Cagle

"Don't Bring Me Down", Sia

"Rangers", A Fine Frenzy
